At Victoria House, we pride ourselves in buying local. We procure our fresh produce from local growers and suppliers and employ people from the local community. The ambition was always to make Victoria House the hub of the community and this is definitely being achieved.

OUR HISTORY

Victoria House Tearoom started life as a bakery and since its humble beginnings in the early 18th century it has been a general store, haberdashery, an antique shop and at one time it even sold motorbikes.

OUR FAMILY

Sapphira and Paul Waterson bought Victoria House in 2017 as a residential property, but always thought it was better suited to commercial; this started the idea of opening a tearoom. Their daughter Jade Connolly was the perfect ingredient in this plan as she had already built a successful business making celebration cakes, but her ambition was to run a tearoom of her own.

Our very own chef prepares homemade soup, a variety of sandwiches and toasties, ploughman’s and baked potatoes. We also have a daily specials board offering a wider variety to an already tempting menu.
